Here are five of our all-time favourite trails to explore while you’re here:

Nature's Window Kalbarri

1. Nature’s Window & The Loop Walk

3–5 hours |  Moderate–Hard

Home to the Insta-famous Nature’s Window, this 9 km hike is a must-do for adventurers. It winds through rugged terrain along the Murchison River and offers some of the most spectacular gorge views in the park. Make sure you bring plenty of water and start early — especially if you're visiting outside the cooler months (May to October is best!).

2. Z Bend River Trail

1–1.5 hours | Moderate

A favourite among visitors for good reason. This trail takes you down into the gorge for a closer look at the river below. Expect a bit of rock scrambling and a short climb back up, but you’ll be rewarded with peaceful views and a real sense of being immersed in nature.

3. Bigurda Trail

2–3 hours | Easy–Moderate

Love a good coastal walk? The Bigurda Trail is an 8 km stretch of jaw-dropping cliffs and ocean views, running from Eagle Gorge to Natural Bridge. It’s especially magical in whale season (July–October), so keep an eye on the water!

Mushroom Rock Nature Trail

4. Mushroom Rock Nature Trail

1 hour | Easy

This short 2 km loop is a great family-friendly trail, winding through unique rock formations that have been shaped by time (and a lot of wind!). It’s an easy one to tick off in the morning or late afternoon, with stunning coastal views the whole way.

Kalbarri Skywalk Trail

5. Kalbarri Skywalk Trail

15–30 mins | Easy & Accessible

Not so much a hike, but still an absolute must-see. The Kalbarri Skywalk features two dramatic cantilevered platforms that jut out over the Murchison Gorge — giving you that “wow, I’m really up here” feeling. It’s an easy stroll from the car park and suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Before You Go:

  • Always carry water (lots of it!)
  • Wear good walking shoes
  • Check trail conditions before setting off
  • Don’t forget your camera – and your sense of adventure
